Common Health Misconceptions

Health magazine has the real facts about common health misconceptions:

1. You don’t have to drink 8 glasses of water a day in addition to all the other fluids you consume

2. Stress doesn’t turn your hair gray. We gray according to our genetics.

3. Reading in poor light doesn’t damage your eyes.

4. A cup or two of coffee a day isn’t harmful. As a matter of fact it has healthful benefits.

5. “Feed a cold, starve a fever” has no medical validity. Fluids will keep mucus thinner and and help loosen congestion.

6. Fresh food isn’t ALWAYS better than frozen.

7. Eggs aren’t necessarily bad for you. One egg contains 213 milligrams of cholesterol, but it also offers lean protein and vitamins A and D. Just watch your total cholesterol intake.

8. Getting wet and cold won’t cause you to get sick…. unless you get so cold that you suffer from hypothermia.

9. You won’t get sick from lead in lipstick.
